Clermont County

Clermont County was established in 1800, before Ohio became a state. Its name comes from a French term meaning clear mountain. The Ohio River, agriculture and early transportation routes shaped settlement, while communities closer to Cincinnati later experienced substantial suburban and commercial growth. Today the county’s economy includes health care, manufacturing, logistics, retail, education, professional services, agriculture and locally owned businesses.

Explore the Ohio River communities, historic New Richmond, downtown Milford, local museums and parks, or head outdoors to East Fork State Park, Stonelick State Park and Clermont County Park District properties. Trails, fishing, boating, golf, farm markets, breweries, restaurants and seasonal festivals provide year-round experiences.
